The Nuhanovic Foundation is currently looking for a new board member with a strong background in human resources and organisational development. Ideally, this individual also brings expertise or a keen interest in international criminal law, Dutch criminal law human rights, or the principle of universal jurisdiction.
About the Nuhanovic Foundation
The Nuhanovic Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to advancing legal accountability for international core crimes and gross human rights violations with a link to the Netherlands. We support victims and their legal representatives in pursuing justice and holding perpetrators accountable.
Our work involves strategic litigation, advocacy, and capacity building, often in collaboration with international partners. Though small in scale, we strive for significant impact by promoting the rule of law and safeguarding human dignity.
Individual Responsibilities
- You are an HR professional or an employment lawyer (arbeidsrechtadvocaat)
- You advise the other board on all HR matters and you lead discussions on HR related topics.
- You support the Director in HR management issues and annual performance reviews of staff members.
- You do the final check on HR related contracts as well as contracts with ZZP or companies.
Shared Responsibilities
- Represent the Foundation.
- Responsible for strategy of the Foundation.
- Approve and monitor (financial) support for judicial procedures.
- Approve and monitor annual plans, budgets and multi-annual plans.
- Monitor the publication of annual reports.
- Ensure annual closing and other financial duties are managed adequately and timely.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and legal requirements.
- Good employer practices.
- Other general board membership tasks.
Your Profile
- You are excited by the mission and vision of the Foundation.
- You have familiarity with international human rights organisations or advocacy work (a plus), or eager to become involved.
- You have expertise and experience that fit with the roles and responsibilities of the vacant positions.
- You have strong analytical and organisational skills.
- You can dedicate an average of 10 hours per month to board duties.
- You are based in The Netherlands.
- You are comfortable in Dutch or English as working language.
