Case Summary

Since March 2024, The Nuhanovic Foundation, together with its project Ukraine Legal Network, has provided support for ongoing criminal pre-investigation in the Netherlands, which involves individual perpetrators of war crimes. This has been done due to the vital cooperation with our partners in the Netherlands and Ukraine, with the aim of assisting the potential criminal case concerning international crimes, such as torture, allegedly committed in Ukraine by an individual reportedly present in the Netherlands.

The team from NF and ULN has been instrumental in facilitating communication with the survivor and allocating necessary support in the Netherlands, as well as assisting in finding legal representation during survivor’s communication with the Netherlands Public Prosecution Service and the International Crimes Team of the Dutch Police in the pre- investigation stage.

Due to confidentiality and security issues, we cannot provide additional information on the case, nor can we report on other current or planned case-building initiatives.
