The Palestinian Authority has made its first submission of evidence of alleged Israeli war crimes to the International Criminal Court. On Thursday 25th June 2015 Palestinian Foreign Minister Riyad al-Maliki met with the court’s chief prosecutor Fatou Bensouda. Following the meeting, he confirmed that he had submitted dossiers on the Gaza conflict of summer 2014 (“Operation Protective Edge”), Israeli settlements on occupied land where Palestinians seek a State, and treatment of Palestinian prisoners held by Israel. The materials submitted are intended to facilitate the ICC’s preliminary examination into Palestine, opened one week earlier, on jan.16 2015.
