This 2012 report of the UN Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in the Palestinian territories occupied since 1967, Richard Falk,  addresses Israel’s compliance with its obligations under international law in relation to its occupation of Palestinian territory. The Special Rapporteur focuses particular attention on the legal responsibility of business enterprises, corporations and non-State actors involved in activities relating to Israel’s settlements in the occupied Palestinian territory.

Specifically, the report calls upon enterprises worldwide to refrain from any activities that directly or indirectly support the illegal settlements in the Occupied Palestinian Territories.

With respect to reparations, the report urges the Israeli government to “immediately move forward with reparations to the Palestinian people (…) in full and transparent consultation with affected Palestinians, for all activities related to its settlement enterprise since 1967, also ensuring that land used by businesses is restored to its condition status quo ante unless improved. “ (Paragraph 94)
