IRMA VAN DEN BERG

Irma van den Berg is a lawyer specialized in public and environmental law. She is a partner at SIX advocaten, a boutique law firm that she co-founded in 2008. Before that, she worked at two other law firms and as a senior staff lawyer at the courts of The Hague and Amsterdam (migration law chambers). In 2009, she became a board member of the Lawyers for Lawyers Foundation, from 2019 to 2024 she was chair of the board. On behalf of Lawyers for Lawyers, Irma is monitoring trials against lawyers in Türkiye and has done extensive volunteer work for lawyers at risk worldwide because of their work providing access to justice and defending human rights and the rule of law. Since July 2025, she is Chair of the Board of The Nuhanovic Foundation.
